[Geoserver-users] [Mapbuilder-devel] Where has the geoserver demo data gone? Mapbuilder depends upon it.

Which version are you talking about? We plan to keep the tasmania demos there.

Hi geoserver people,

We have been doing final tests on Mapbuilder before our next minor release and it seems that the default install of geoserver we test against doesn't contain our demo data.

In particular, we are missing geoserver/data/featureTypes/tasmania_*/* shapfiles which means mapbuilder's WFS-T demo doesn't work with the default geoserver any more.

It seems that a number of the demos at http://localhost:8080/geoserver/demo.do don't work either.

And what are your future plans with regards to demos and data?
Can we get the Tasmania shapefiles included in the Geoserver release again?

We are holding off the Mapbuilder release until we get an understanding of what the plans are for Geoserver.

I actually found the same problem in 1.3.2 demos are not working anymore mainly because tasmania shapefiles are not there.
I download the war file and deploy it on tomcat on MacOS. I could not try the .exe version for windows, maybe they are still there.
Is it a packaging problem?

I might put up a new war with the taz files in it if you guys want.

Oops sorry, forgot to mention version.

I noticed the problem in 1.3.2 and Mike reported that we had the same problem in 1.3.1.

If you are planning to re-instate the tasmania demos, when do you plan to make another release?

We will need to update our documentation to explain the issue.

Yes,
I only tested the .war file - which is how we recommend deploying a mapbuilder/geoserver WFS-T settup.

Another release would be great. If you can deploy within the next day or so, then we will delay our release till you are finished.
