Hi All,
I am a new user to Geoserver with little/no knowledge about shapefiles FeatureType etc. But after watching a video on Goole Videos about it, i was very curious to know how this works.
I just installed JDK 5.0 Update 8 and GeoServer 1.4-M1and followed Windows Specific install thats on the website (geoserver.org). After i start the GeoServer and go to http://localhost:8080/geoserver/ and tired to look through the Demos (WMS Example). But i see no Map at all… One observation i made is that in “Admin” Section “JAI Available: False”. I did not install JAI because on the website it was written that JAI is automatically installed with Geoserver 1.3 or higher… But even then since JAI seems unavailble i tried to install JAI Image I/O tools 1.0_01 for CLASSPATH, JDK and also JRE and restarted the server (and restarted even my computer). Even then “JAI Available: False”.
Can anyone please help me in this… How do i get Maps displayed? I tried it on Firefox 1.5.06 and also on IE. I’ve attached a log file for reference.
