Many developers work for companies offering support, so they are not in position to respond to private emails (as that would be considered consulting). Open source works best as a community, so by having your questions and discussion in public it will help the next person looking into these integration issues as well.
It is also worthwhile looking at the email archives, and seeing who is interested in this space:
It could be you are in position to help update the GeoXACML module?

Hi Jody, My name is Firas Al Khalil. I contacted you yesterday on IRC. I am the security researcher. I was wondering if you can hook me up with someone who knows about GeoServer’s security, because I am really lost here :/. The thing is, I want to implement something like GeoXACML [http://geoserver.org/display/GEOS/GeoXACML-Integration]. The architecture is almost identical, but the GeoXACML module provided is out of date I guess (it uses deprecated classes, some instructions are not valid, etc.) … so contacting someone who really knows what to do and where would be extremely helpful. Thanks a lot.

I will subscribe to the mailing list and ask the community there.
As for the GeoXACML, I don’t really think that I am in a good position to fix it, I am no GeoXACML expert, but I have a general idea about it, but If it turned out to be feasible I will definitely do it.
