[Geoserver-users] mobile editing application?

Hello,

I am looking for a mobile web editing application that uses either GeoServer or MapServer. Particularly I am looking for the following:

*The application must work on Tablets. If it works on phones that would be good as well.
*I would like to avoid an annual subscription fee. If anything it must be significantly cheaper than ArcGIS Online.
*The map should be able to work the GPS on the tablet or phone.
*The application should be easy to enter data in.
*The application should allow password protection.
*The application should be relatively easy to set up.

If anyone knows of any decent mobile mapping frameworks please let me know.

There are only a handful of open source mobile apps around (if that is what you are looking for). gvSig mobile (not sure if that is active), geopaparazzi, grass mobile (pretty sure that is not active).

Deploying mobile apps is a very hot area of GIS, following the trade magazines show new apps and SDKs released each month. It comes across as quite desperate …

You may wish to contact one of the organisations offering GeoServer commercial support to look in your requirements and make a recommendation.
