[Geoserver-users] mongodb with geoserver

Dear List,

We are attempting to use mongodb with geoserver. After some searching internet we decided to go with GS 2.2. Now we are able to see mongodb data store option, but it only asks for url and port and not the username password, Afterwards the list of available datasets is also empty.

We downloaded the plugin from
http://download.osgeo.org/webdav/geotools/org/geotools/gt-mongodb/8.7/gt-mongodb-8.7.jar

Also found some useful information at below threads
http://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/35284/getting-mongodb-working-with-geoserver
http://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/54950/getting-mongodb-working-with-geoserver-2

has anybody been down this lane before?

regards,
Imran

The mongodb implementation received a considerable improvement last year - starting with a new implementation.

Why would you consider GeoServer 2.2? It has not been supported for some time …

Mobile security can be enabling, not merely restricting. Employees who
bring their own devices (BYOD) to work are irked by the imposition of MDM
restrictions. Mobile Device Manager Plus allows you to control only the
apps on BYO-devices by containerizing them, leaving personal data untouched!

Hi Jody,
one thing I've noticed is that we're lacking a mongodb plugin for
geoserver, we probably
need to make a release descriptor for it in community land (assuming we
don't need to write
a special store UI of course).
Of course, we'd need a volunteer to do that...

Cheers
Andrea

Thanks for the reply, we would go with any version that supports mongodb. Because the internet sourced we found pointed to 2.2, thats why we opted for it. Any links for using mongodb with standalone geoserver help a lot

Regards

Imran

Take the geotools mongodb unsupported plugin for the geotools release you are using, compile into a jar and drop into geoserver libs folder.

Unsupported plugins like this can be added to the library if you are interested in volunteering.

Looks like we'd need:
- changes to the release (nightly module)
- documentation for the geotools module (ideally)
- documentation for the Geoserver part
- testing and fixes (at least the namespace part which does not appear to be editable).

Since this would be a community module, these two would be probably
mandatory or highly
recommended:

- changes to the release (nightly module)
- testing and fixes (at least the namespace part which does not appear to
be editable).

and these two (very) nices to have:

- documentation for the geotools module (ideally)
- documentation for the Geoserver part
