Does anyone know when Geoserver will suport multi dimensional layers and
queries, specially time dimension?

If my multi dimensiona layer you mean a multi dimensional raster data,
not right now, but Simone and Alessio are working on a branch to provide
support for NetCDF and HDF n-dimensional raster data.
However, the changes they are performing are not small, so I don't expect the branch to merge into a stable version of GeoServer anytime
soon
They can provide more information. Maybe you would be interested in testing out their work?

We are very intereseted in testing this functionality. We are working in
a project that tries to publish weather data thru Geoserver so the time
dimension functionality is quite important to us.

as aaime said, we are actively working on this new functionality.
Instead of starting with a long email explaining what we are doing,
I'd would try the opposite approach by asking what functionalities you
are you seeking.
