Installing geoserver on fedora core 4:
startup.sh gives:
GEOSERVER DATA DIR is /home/blah/geoserver/data_dir
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Could not create the Java virtual machine.
any ideas? Was laughing to get stuck after my successful windows install ...
Hi Micheal,
Are you using a jvm bundled with the distribution? I have had similar problems with my linux distro using the jdk installed via the package manager. Downloading and installing the jdk directly from sun fixed the problem.
Does this happen only for GeoServer, how about other java apps? When I had the problem it was reproducible with any other apps i tried to run.
