[Geoserver-users] noob question: WMS time query

Hi,
I know this question has been asked and answered on the list before,
but I am not sure what the final answer is :). Does the 1.7.x branch
support the temporal cs provisions of the WMS spec? JIRA has a few
tickets that have been opened and closed, and a few list responses
have been in the affirmative, but the latest response from Sept 2008
(i think) said it was under active development and should be released
soon.

It is still in active development inside a branch, but it's only
for coverages, and includes more than just time support, it's full
WMS/WCS n-dimensional coverage support.
We don't have short plans to support time/elevation in vector data,
but if anybody wants to take a crack at it let us know and we'll
try to provide some guidance.

Yes, I would like to take a crack at it. I have a need for time and
elevation support in a project we are starting in a few weeks. Any
pointers would be appreciated. Should I start by reviewing the
n-dimensional coverage branch? Which branch is that?
