Hi,
Nothing wrong with your question, for many reasons: a) you are not at all the first one to ask the same b) I am remembering the Andrea Aime was considering to turn the on-the-fly simplification off by default and c) Geoserver is so huge that no single person can know all that it can, or can't, do.

Hi,
See the PostGIS datastore options, "Support on the fly geometry simplification" is on by defauld. Turn it off and try.

I have a PostGIS table with a cycleway network (represented as polygon).
When I see the WMS with a small scale the simplification is very high and there are a lot of holes.
There is a way to not simplify the geometry? Maybe using SLD options.
Thanks in advanced,R
