[Geoserver-users] OpenLayers Not Working In Demo?

Just downloaded GeoServer after seeing it at FOSS4G. When I go to the demo page and click on the Map Preview none of the examples for OpenLayers seem to be backed by an actual map. For example, if I click on sf:bugsites for OpenLayers I see a bunch of black dots on a white background but no underlying map. Is this normal? How do I get the map part turned on as demoed at the conference?

Hi Matt,

When view the bugsites layer from the map preview you are seeing that
layer in isolation, ie, the openlayers map only is configured with a
single layer.

The demo you saw at foss4g is a different openlayers map which is
configured with the same layer (among others), and it is configured with
google satellite as the base layer.

You can check it out here:

Browse the source and you will see what i mean.
