Hi,
Osm2pgsql.exe is really lacking all options for database connection, except the name of the database (-d parameter). It is a Windows executable specially made for me by Mr. Artem Pavlenko because I can't compile anything myself nor can I use Linux. It was enought for my immediate needs but I do think that first place for further development of this utility is to make datebase connection adjustable. I believe that the source code is not totally the same than used for a standard Linux osm2pgsql because I asked to add some extra OSM tags to be imported into PostGIS with the Windows version. At least address, URL and historic were added.

Or then one can do as I did and negotiate an agreement with some developer.

Hi Roman,
You will probably get a better response on the postgis users list. But
it depends on how you installed the database. When you installed postgis
you should have had to supply a username, password (assuming you used
the installer). I dont know how osm2pgsql works... but you should be
able to specify a user. If it follows other postgres command conventions
it should be -U <user>
