[Geoserver-users] Outline on PointSymbolizer graphics

Hi all,

I have a symbol as in the picture below:
<http://osgeo-org.1560.x6.nabble.com/file/n5053864/foorum.png>

What I have tried to do is generate a white boarder around it by having to
<PointSymbolizer>s in one <Rule>, where the white airplane symbol
(ExternalGraphic) is resized. As you can see, this result is not good since
it does not generate an even white boarder around the symbol.

Is there anyway in SLD to do this? Do you have any other suggestions?

Best regards,
Jakob

Hi Jakob,

I see two approaches:

 1. Create a new airplane raster graphic that includes the white outline as well.

 2. Create a new airplane vector graphic and convert into a custom font. Then use the TextSymbolizer together with the Halo to have an outline.

Either way, play with the transparency of the white outline to achieve a more subtle transition

Thanks for the reply,

I guess the simpest is to draw a new graphic since in this case I have to
deal with only one symbol.

Jakob
