[Geoserver-users] pgRouting+geoserver

Hello,
i am yet to implement anything yet as regards pgrouting in geoserver. All I have right now is an idea. It is as follows:
Since pgrouting functionality can be accessed using jdbc, i intend creating a servlet that gathers user requests then uses jdbc to interact with pgrouting to generate a result. after that, I intend invoking geoserver to serve the gml of the generated result by specifying the result as a parameter in a wfs query. I haven’t checked to see if this feasible. I believe the result of any pgrouting operation is a spatial table. if that is the case then geoserver should be able to generate gml from the result and deliver it to the client. I think we should ask the geoserver develoers about how to register new feature types programmatically. i.e on the fly

Thanks
Roman

Hi Roman,

Sounds pretty cool. It should be pretty easy to add a new feature type
on the fly from code running in GeoServer. Just take a look at the
TypesEditorAction class which is the action that is executed when
someone adds a new feature type from teh user interface.

I should say that we are working on a good REST api for allowing feature
types and other configurations to be edited on the fly.
