[Geoserver-users] Please upgrade the version of mysql jdbc driver

I got the reason of charset mismatch erorr of mysql data store. It is
because of the mysql jdbc driver.
The standard release of geoserver now using jdbc connector of version
3.0. But I found that this version does not support unicode charset very
well. And the problem has been fixed in 5.0.x.

However, when I replace the 3.0 with new version and start geoserver
again, mysql datastore dosen't work, and there is no message printed in
the command line. The web interface show that the condition of server is
all right, but the wms from mysql datastore is not available.(It is
strange that the feature type config still works.)

Maybe we should do something on the source code to adapt the new version
of mysql connector. And I think it is really necessary to upgrade the
driver to 5.0.x. so I hope this problem will be solved in the future.
Thanks!

Hi,

I agree that an upgrade should be done. Unfortunately there is no full
time maintainer for the mysql module. But feel free to create an issue
in our bug tracker.
