[Geoserver-users] Point layer displays as two overlapping points

Hi all and happy holidays!

Another user question: I"m trying to serve a point layer via geoserver up
to Google Earth. For some reason, everything displays properly, but each
point is displayed twice (with two overlapping points, two labels, etc).
They are the same feature but are duplicate. Anyone else experience this
and know of a possible fix?

Thanks,

David

Hi David,

It could be that you have two of the same <rule> in your SLD that will cause the point to appear twice. If not that, then it might be there there is another networklink pointing to the same layer lying around.

Hrm, I feel like we've had this problem before and we weren't able to replicate?

David, could you send us your SLD file so we can see if we can replicate the problem?

Well, I'm using the point SLD file that came with the geoserver
distribution. I'll include it again. Also of note, when displaying point
layers from the geoserver demo files, it looks fine. However, when using
my own data, I get double points. I'm using Arcview 9.1 to create the
shapefiles in case that has anything to do with it.

replicate?
