hi list,
geoserver is a very nice tool but sometimes ist also important to stop
it. i think it is a very simple problem but i can't stop geoserver with
the shutdown.sh-script. there is no stop.jar at all in the geoserver
directories.
also the following advice i found in the list doesn't work:
java -DSTOP.PORT=8079 -DSTOP.KEY=geoserver -jar start.jar --stop
the only possibility i found is to kill the process.
any hint appreciated
greetings from munich
christian
p.s. i tested several builds, also the 1.6.0-beta2, all with the same
negative result
Hi Christian,
There is a jira issue for this already open:
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-1129
It is scheduled to be fixed for 1.5.2 which will be happening soon.
But if you cant wait feel free to sign up and watch the issue to be informed when its fixed... At that point you can grab a nightly build.
Thanks for the bug report.

hello justin,
thanks for your fast answer. meanwhile i found a possibilty to stop the server, see below
java -DGEOSERVER_DATA_DIR=/usr/local/geoserver/data_dir -Djava.awt.headless=true -DSTOP.PORT=8079 -DSTOP.KEY=geoserver -jar start.jar --stop
the short form 'java -DSTOP.PORT=8079 -DSTOP.KEY=geoserver -jar start.jar --stop' doesn't work.
thats enough for me to wait for 1.5.2
christian
