[Geoserver-users] Problem with WMS virtual service

Dear all,

I have a problem with virtual services (geoserver 2.6.0):

If I use: http://<GEOSERVER_URL>/<workspace>/wfs?request=GetCapabilities I correctly see only the layers within the selected workspace
otherwise if I do http://<GEOSERVER_URL>/<workspace>/wms?request=GetCapabilities I see all the layers.

I try with enable/disable "global services" but do not change nothing...

Any idea about error?

None, but please test the last releases, 2.6.0 is a few months old and the
issue
might have been fixed in the meantime. At the very least try 2.6.2, best if
you can
test 2.7-beta too.

Virtual service do not works for WMS layers, only for WFS

Any suggestions?

None, but please test the last releases, 2.6.0 is a few months old and the issue
might have been fixed in the meantime. At the very least try 2.6.2, best if you can
test 2.7-beta too.

It would seem it is something specific to your setup, I've just tried with
a standard GeoServer 2.6.2 and using:
http://localhost:8080/geoserver/sf/wms?service=wms&request=GetCapabilities
http://localhost:8080/geoserver/topp/wms?service=wms&request=GetCapabilities

I only get back layers in the respective workspaces.

To help you we first need to understand what makes your installation
different.
Is it happening only with particular workspaces for example? Did you change
anything in the
wms configuration or security subsystem?

With “sf” and “topp” workspaces it works, but we encountered the problem with a workspace that we have defined, but the workspace options are the same. Cheers, Roberto

I've just tried creating a new workspace "test" with a single store and
layer in it, the caps for it only list that layer,
plus the global layer groups (which is normal).

So... not sure what's going on in your case. Maybe shows us the list of
layers, the workspace definition, and the urls you're using.

Yes, I’ve found the problem. The layer group do not have a workspace defined… If I assign a workspace I see only the layer of my workspace. It is not a problem of getCapabilities service, but only of the group configuration! Tanks! Cheers, R
