[Geoserver-users] Problems with transparent raster layers

Hi,

I have a prerendered hybrid map. I use the image pyramid plugin (Geoserver
1.6.4b).

The transparent areas are set to '#00ff00' and this value is defined in the
input transparent field. I use the standard raster-SLD. When I now view the
map it is rendered transparent correctly, but the black text is also
transparent! What can I do? I tested nearly everything.

The raster data are 8 bit TIFFs with nearly the same color table (about 34
entrys), but always in a different order.

Who can help me?

This means that you want to transform the red pixel into transparent
ones for the input images.
Is this the behavior you are expecting?

This, if my understanding is not correctly, sounds like a bug or an
erroneous behavior.

The raster data are 8 bit TIFFs with nearly the same color table (about 34
entrys), but always in a different order.

This should mean that a color expansion is required if the various
palettes are not completely equal.
I have a question on this how did you generate the pyramid? Can you
copy and paste the properties file for the pyramind and one of the
mosaics? I think it would be useful to have two of your tiles to play
with them myself.

Simone.

Hi,

- yes, I want to transform the green pixels from the input images to be
transparent. The input images have no Transparency (Neither alpha nor
transparent pixels).

- I wrote something wrong in my first message. I didn't used the image
pyramid plugin, is only used the image mosaic plugin.

- content of my .properties file:

Name=15_geoactive

Levels=2.38865710449,2.38865710449

LevelsNum=1

Envelope2D=644998.805671,5930001.509073 1694998.490927,7330001.194329

NumFiles=1187

ExpandToRGB=true

- I attached two images

thanks

Hi to all,
I have a little question: I created a custom .PAL file and I stored it in
$GEOSERVER_DATA_DIR/palettes directory.

Do you know how can I set a transparent color?

Meanwhile I'll keep on trying. :working:
Thanks guys.

...the rasters which I want to be styled with a transparent color are
GeoTiffs. I ask for GIFs via WMS.

You don't. The original image needs to be RGBA and thus have
transparent pixels natively.

If that does not help open an issue on jira.codehaus.org
and attach the GeoTiff (or a small sample of it), the PAL,
the request and what you expected as a result

Cheers
