[Geoserver-users] Query about Coverage Stores

Dear All

I have added a raster sheet to GeoServer and everything works well.

My query is with regard to the 'Coverage Data Set Editor' page and the URL
field. The URL field is shown as 'file coverages/sample.tiff' and is
explained as a relative path to the GeoServer data directory.

Is it possible to put the raster files in another directory, not within the
GeoServer data directory, and if so, how would you enter this into the URL
field?

I ask as I am going to install Deegree on the same machine, and I would like
to have the raster files in a folder where both Deegree and GeoServer can
both access them, rather than me making duplicate copies of them all.

Kind Regards & Many Thanks

Hi John,

You should be able to load the coverage from anywhere on your system. Just include the full path in the URL field. Something like:

C:\mydata\somecoverage.tiff

And it should work ok.
