[Geoserver-users] Question about how construct query to spatial database from SLD

Hi, I have one dude about the query that Geoserver make to the
database. I have one table with millions of registers (positions of
GPS of 50 vehicles) with a time column. I want to represent ONLY the
last position of every 50 vehicles.
First, I make a view of the table, but Oracle can't use the spatial
index in a view (and it's too too too slow).
Next, I do it using sld with a filter rule, my question is: ¿Alls
queries to the server have the condition of the rule?.
I see the sql in the log when I try to see this table in googleEarth,
and the sql only have the spatial filter. If I only use spatial filter
without the condition of 'only last position', the query kills my
oracle server....

Thanks in advanced:

GeoServer 1.3.1beta should have some code that passes more sld filters back to the database. Give it a try and let us know your experiences.
