[Geoserver-users] Question about SRS with new geoserver 1.4.0

Hi, I have all my geographic dates in oracle spatial 9i with SRID=82337 (UTM
ED-50). Can I configure my layers in Geoserver forms with epsg:23030 (UTM
ED-50)?. When I make WFS&WMS queries, is correct select SRS=23030 ???. I
want to use Geoserver to access the data via WMS&WFS. How much faster is
access throw Oracle(OCI) instead of Oracle???
Thanks in advanced:

It should be correct, since the Oracle datastore does disregard the CRS you specify in queries and use the internal one (the one declared in the geometric columns). Just make sure the CRS you declared in geoserver form and the one you use for queries do match.

I have no idea. I've noticed the Oracle datastore is slow, but it's unfortunately unmantained at the moment... if you come up with clues as to how improve performance, they would be appreciated.

Cheers
Andrea

I believe so. Oracle can be weird sometimes. But yes, I think you pick
the EPSG code, not the oracle srid...

From what I've heard the Oracle OCI is substantially faster. But I'm not

sure if anyone's done real testing - it may be that the speed increases
with it aren't noticed in GeoServer because of other bottle necks. Though
Andrea recently did some bug fixes that should get Oracle even faster, so
when those get in it's more likely that OCI will get you some performance
improvements.
