[Geoserver-users] Geoserver and ArcSDE 9.3

Hi,

your steps seem good, just

make sure the icu4j.jar file is also copied

to the WEB-INF/lib directory and

restart.

If ArcSDE still doesn't appear like a data store option, please set

the

logging level to GEOTOOLS_DEVELOPER_LOGGING, try again and send back the

log file <data dir>/logs/geoserver.log.

Cheers,
Gabriel

Hi all,
I have a problem using ArcSDE extension

with Geoserver 1.7.5 (Windows

XP).
I want to connect Geoserver with an

ArcSDE 9.3 service.

I followed these
instructions [1], downloaded

geoserver-1.7.5-arcsde-plugin.zip and copied the

contained .jar files in

WEB-INF/lib directory of the GeoServer installation.

Then I tried to

obtain the external files needed. In the esri support page [2]

I was able

to download only the jpe_sdk.jar but not the jsde_sdk.jar for the

ArcSDE

9.3 version.

I used the one I found in the official installation dvd of

ArcSDE 9.3 and copied both jar files in WEB-INF/lib directory.

When I

restart

Geoserver and try to create a new Data store, I can't find the

ArcSDE option

between the other Feature Data Set Description types.
Am I

doing any mistake?

Are there any compatibility problems with 9.3 version?

Can I provide other

information to help understand the problem?
Your

help would be very much

appreciated!
Thanks
Alessandro

This most likely means your data_dir is not located where
you think it is
Do you see the logs during startup in any console/terminal?
If so, GeoServer will print the location of the data directory
during startup, take it from there.

Cheers
