[Geoserver-users] raster interpolation problem

Hi.

I can't seem to figure out how to change the interpolation of rasters.
This is in 1.6.2, 1.6.4, 1.7.0-beta2 and today's nightly build (1.7.x
branch).
I know there was a bug - http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-2057 - but
it's supposed to be fixed, so I guess I simply don't know how to change the
interpolation in configuration
I tried setting it in WMS rendering config, as well as in info.xml of the
raster. Is there any other way?

Regards,
Tadej

Can't anybody help me with this? :frowning:

Regards,
Tadej

Hi Tadej,

on a nightly 1.7.x build you should be able to change it by going to Configuration -> WMS -> Rendering?

If that does not answer your question, exactly which nightly build did you download?

I actually tried that, amongst other things, but the result is always the
same - a very ugly nearset neighbour interpolation.
The nightly build was geoserver-1.7.x-latest-bin.zip, as of 5.8.2008.

My next step will obviously have to be to debug the code myself (and I don't
really want to install all that stuff (maven, etc) ;))

If you are not happy with this:
http://www.nabble.com/attachment/18803702/0/wms-17x-073008-bicubic-png8.png

you can alternatively request the double size from Geoserver:
http://www.nabble.com/attachment/18803702/1/wms-17x-073008-nn-910x1100-png8.png

and then downsample it with a better antialiasing method, e.g. Image Magick
(or Python Imaging Library):

I would probably be happy with bicubic .. but I can't get it to resize my
tiles using bicubic
It doesn't matter what I set in config, the output is always *the same*.
Any ideas?
