[Geoserver-users] Raster quality downgrade in LayerGroup

Hi all,

there are requests from 2011 and 2013 concerning this topic.
I'm using goeserver 2.8.1 with Java 1.8.0_65.
When serving a layer group containing 4 different ImageMosaic Store based layers, the image quality is less then requesting them as single wms-layers. Default caching is turned off.
In version 2.5.1 this effect is not existent. Can somebody help ?

I'm not aware of any work done in this area, nor what the cause could be.
Is your issue similar to https://osgeo-org.atlassian.net/browse/GEOS-6614 ?

no my issue isn`t similar to GEOS-6614, more like the related:

The problem seems to appear and disappear from Version to Version, maybe caused by the default interpolation method setting ???

It seems to be the same effect like in that entrees in the users-list:

I honestly don't know, my company has been working in production deploys
for basically all past
versions and I did not receive reports of this particular issue...
wondering if it needs some special trigger.
What we need here is a simple reproducable case, a few small raster data
sets and a request showing the problem.

Given there seems to be no one sponsoring a fix, it's particuarly important
to at least have a very quick way
to reproduce to the developer that might be willing to crush his/her spare
time on it

I will try to build up a test scenario to reproduce this issue and give a notice when its ready.

What we need here is a simple reproducable case, a few small raster data sets and a request showing the problem.

to reproduce to the developer that might be willing to crush his/her spare time on it
