[Geoserver-users] Re projection to Google Mercator with 1.7.0-RC1

Hello,

With 1.7.0-RC1, I tried to reproject a GK3 (EPSG:31467) shapefile of vectors
to Google Mercator (EPSG:900913), using the following request:

http://localhost:8080/geoserver/wms?transparent=true&layers=alpsteinpc43%3AWege_Schwarzwaldverein&service=WMS&extension=png&format=image%2Fpng&request=GetMap&height=256&width=256&version=1.1.1&bbox=953934.112028%2C6229923.55144%2C956380.096933%2C6232369.53634&styles=&srs=EPSG%3A900913

- Unfortunately, the result does not fully match the corresponding Google
tile:

google_and_31467_to_900913.png

- As a sanity check I reprojected the shapefile to 900913 myself, then tried
it in Geoserver (= no reprojection), and the result matches the Google tile:

- I read http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOTDOC/08+Google+Maps+Projection
and http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOT-1511 but I am not quite sure what
the current state is.

Please let me know how I should do it, or whether this deserves a new issue
in the tracker.
I am happy to send the shapefiles per email.

Best regards,
