[Geoserver-users] REGARDING DEPLOYMENT OF A JAR FILE WITHIN GEOSERVER AS A PROCESS

Hie everyone,

I have just started Geoserver. I have an open source jar file, i want to customise a process class and include this jar file within and then get this registered with Geoserver. Is this posssible. I have started geoserver throughj eclipse, and abruptly tomcat stops running, after changing the server settings to jetty (initially i was using tomcat as a standalone server), but now, for eclipse integration i dont find any guide other than jetty., so i had no option rather than giving jetty port no.
Now, when i run tomcat normally, itz fine, but when running with geoserver, it give outofmemory exception, application or context required. Any guidance for further precedence would be greatly obliged. Please do the needful

You can follow this tutorial to create a process, it describes how to include a META-INF/services file allowing the process to picked up and publishes via GeoServer WPS.

For starting geoesrver up in eclipse check out the developers guide, you normally have to give it more permgen space for example.

Okay I take it from this exchange that the geoserver tutorial for processes is busted and should be fixed.
Girija do you have any pointers of where it can be fixed? Like now that you have a working example …
