Hi all,
I wonder whether Geoserver support regular expressions in “strSubstring” and “strSubstringStart” filter functions. I would like to label my layers with attribute-filtering SLD, and in Geoserver User Manual I have found these 2 functions, which I believe are suitable. But I am not sure if regular expressions work with this two aforementioned, and how to put my regex into SLD properly (I mean which markups should be used).

Hi Piotr,
I don’t think you can use regexes with those two, but you can use strMatches, see here the reference:

Mind one thing, these filter functions are not sent down to the database, they will be evaluated as the data is streamed up in memory (just so you know, in case you expected otherwise).
