Hi,
since a couple of days (maybe weeks
) my bookmark for Geoserver REST-API (http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/restconfig/rest-config-api.html#freemarker-templates) shows up an 404 – Not Found. I recognized a new structure in this part of the documentation, so I tried to find the section about the Freemarker Templates again but I had not success.
Thanks to Google web cache here is the part I meant: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/restconfig/rest-config-api.html#freemarker-templates
Are there any plans to reinsert this information?

Mike (cc’ed) did a deep restructuring of the REST documentation, but it seems
quite a bit of information was lost in the process.
Mike? I have the impression you started the restructuring quite some time ago
and what was not around when you started working, got lost.
Maybe the best way to proceed is to determine when you worked on it,
and look at all commits changing the rest documentation that happened in the middle.
Cheers

Hi Robin and Andrea. Yup, that sounds about right. Mea culpa all over the place.
I'm not exactly sure how to figure out what else was there and accidentally removed since I started this refactoring. A brief visual diff through that Google Cache page doesn't seem to have anything the current pages lack, but please let me know whatever else is missing and I'll take care of it.
And in the meantime, I'll re-add this Freemarker templates page.
At least it's nice to see that people are both reading (and adding to) the docs!
Thanks,

I have reincorporated the missing Freemarker template page after adjusting it to the new structure and doing some copyediting. Committed on 2.2.x, 2.3.x, and master.
And if anyone else finds any other REST pages that got vaporized accidentally, please let me know.
Thanks,
