I use rest to upload a zipped shapefile and create the new datastore and layer automatically, but features of the layer could not be locked. The geoserver version is 2.5.x. When I use the geoserver2.3.x, LockFeature action is well.
So are you trying to report that the LockFeature request is broken? Like is it broke for all your shapefile layers?
