[Geoserver-users] shapefile points in Google Earth

Hi List,

I having some trouble getting a shapefile (points) served up to Google Earth 3.

My point data loads and displays fine in uDig, I presume using WFS. So
I think I have been successful with the data load and config into
Geoserver.

Odd thing is that when I look at the KML file that my geoserver
returns when I ask for TOPP:states, I get a KML file chock full of
GML, etc. (and it renders nicely in Google Earth). Great - my
geoserver is working. But when I look at the file returned when I load
the point data, all I get is:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
  <kml xmlns="http://earth.google.com/kml/2.0&quot;&gt;
<Document><name>GeoServer</name></Document></kml>
...that's it.

...And, not surprisingly, no points are rendered in Google Earth!

Have I missed a WMS config option?

Any suggestions would be most welcome!
Thanks,
Charles

Is your projection in lat/lon (4326)? Google earth requires that projection, and right now geoserver doesn't reproject for KML. So that might be the problem.
