Hi,
I have been using Geoserver for a while now. And I have to say that I am globally very satisfied about Geoserver, and even more since the new Raster support. It now allows me to use only one software in stead of two (I used to use Deegree for Rasters).
I have recently downloaded the Geoserver-1.5-rc3 war version and started to test it. I first found something very weird while intending to create a SLD for a featuretype I was adding. In the SLD editor, after filling all the fields and applying the changes, I clicked the finished button, and a page open on another application! The URL of the SLD editor page of the Geoserver-1.5-rc3 application was http://myserver:8080/geoserver-1.5-RC3/config/data/typeEditorSubmit.do and when clicking on the "Finished" button, it open the page http://myserver:8080/geoserver/config/data/typeEditor.do? . There is no error on the page because there is also an application called "geoserver" deployed on my server which a Geoserver-1.4.0. Basically, the problem seems to be that the application considers that its path is automatically /geoserver , but it is very weird that such a bug appears on an application like Geoserver! My Java server is Tomcat-5.5.12 and the platform is Xubuntu Dapper Drake 6.06.1.
Cheers,
Sylvain Broucke
Hi Sylvain,
Good catch! I am certain that somewhere the web application context is just being hardcoded to "geoserver" where as it should be generated dynamically. Thanks for the bug report. Opening an issue for this in the bug tracker.
