[Geoserver-users] SLD question

All,

I've recently had some luck (finally!) in using the SLD inline feature
functionality to add a legend and title and such to WMS requests. To do so,
I currently must draw the boxes and such using coordinates in the projection
(in this case meters). Is there a way to do it using pixels or screen
coordinates so I can more easily keep things in the same place even though
the extent of the map changes (zoom in and out, etc)?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Stephen,

I am not 100% sure but I am think the answer is no. Although I very much agree with you that it would be nice to be able to specify inline features in screen coordinates instead... Not sure how difficult that would be however... I suspect not trivial. At the moment inline features are treated like a normal datastore, which means it has to be in real world coordinates like all others... To pull this off the renderer would have to recognize the inline features in the sld and draw them directly to the screen and not apply any of the transforms it does when dealing with normal data. I am sure someone else can give you a better answer.
