[Geoserver-users] SortBy in WFS GetFeature request

Hi,

I want to be able to sort the results of a WFS request, this is possible in WFS 1.1, but 1.5.1 is only WFS 1.0 compliant.

I know 1.6 is has recently entered beta and is WFS 1.1 compliant, and reading this blog http://blog.geoserver.org/2007/07/05/56/ it mentioned that features will be back ported into the 1.5.2 release.

So my question is will the SortBy functionality be supported in 1.5.2 ? and if so is there any kind of rough release date for it ?.

Additionally in which version will GML3 support be built in.

I think there is a misunderstanding here. We have backported templating,
GeoRSS, and a few other things, but WFS 1.1 and GML3 support cannot
be backported, as such SortBy won't be backported either.

So, if you need GML3 and sorting, Geoserver 1.6.0 beta is the only way to go. We should reach RC state soon.

So, if you need GML3 and sorting, Geoserver 1.6.0 beta is the only way
to go. We should reach RC state soon.
