[Geoserver-users] Spatial filters

All,

I'm using GS 1.4.0 RC5. When I try a spatial filter like this:

&Filter=<Filter><Contains><PropertyName>Geometry</PropertyName><gml:Point><g
ml:Pos>28.0,40.0</gml:Pos></gml:Point></Contains></Filter>

Or this:

Filter=<Filter><Overlaps><PropertyName>the_geom</PropertyName><gml:Polygon><
gml:exterior><gml:LinearRing><gml:posList>25 25 26 26 25 26 25
25</gml:posList></gml:LinearRing></gml:exterior></gml:Polygon></Overlaps></F
ilter>

I get exceptions saying "Attempted to construct illegal filter - I dont
understand the tag: gml:Point." (or gml:Polygon)

Any ideas?

You need to define the gml namespace. I believe something like the following should work:

> &Filter=<Filter xmlns:gml="http://www.opengis.net/gml&quot;&gt;&lt;Contains&gt;&lt;PropertyName&gt;Geometry&lt;/PropertyName&gt;&lt;gml:Point&gt;&lt;g
> ml:Pos>28.0,40.0</gml:Pos></gml:Point></Contains></Filter>
