For displaying a realy big quantity of PoI, which one is giving a better rendering speed :
1. Using png icons ? or
2. using SVG icons.

Once the first GetMap is done it makes no difference, both will be
stored in memory as a raster and used over and over (the SVG gets
rasterized before entering the rendering chain).
