[Geoserver-users] TiFF to Geotiff

Hi
I'm begining in the wolrd of the GIS. Sorry by my bad english and low level.
I'm trying to put Tiff in Coverage Data Set but i don't find a tool for
convert a tiff to Geotiff or I don't know to do anything well.
I use WinTopo , georeferenca and save as in file tiff but when I try put
Coverage Data Set I have an error -not file tiff in directory.
Can anybody tell me any easy tool for transform a Tiff file in a Geotiff
file.

Thank you.

The only free tool I know of it gdal, but it's command line based, so
I'm not sure this will meet the "easy tool" requirement.

If your program saved the tiff file with a .prj and a .wld files then
you can load the same tiff using the "coverage with a world file" coverage type (instead of geotiff).

Hope this helps
Cheers

OSSIM Image linker (www.ossim.org) might be that easy tool if command
line is to be avoided. It does offer command line tool as an
alternative, though. The download address
http://ossim.telascience.org/ossimdata/Windows/ does not seem to work at
the moment.
