Subject: Re: [Geoserver-users] Tiger shape file data question

Hi, is there a way in GeoServer to do a batch import of shape files? We
have a somewhat enhanced version of the Tiger data that we would like to
import in a batch process. From what I have noticed using GeoServer
based on the tutorials you need to import each shapefile manually using
the admin console or hand modify the catalog.xml file. Is there someway
to point GeoServer at a directory and have it suck in all the shape files?
Unfortunately not, tought we have an almost finished datastore for
directories that would remove one step of the configuration, that is,
you would set up just one datastore, but you still would have to set
up each feature type manually.
Sorry for that, when we swith UI and config subsystems we should be
able to handle this kind of batch imports easily (so stay tuned if
you’ll happen to need this again).
Cheers
