[Geoserver-users] trouble shutting down geoserver

Hi all,

When I tried to shut down geoserver using $GEOSERVER_HOME/bin/shutdown.sh, I get this:

The GEOSERVER_HOME environment variable is not defined correctly
This environment variable is needed to run this program

I'm sure that the variable has been set (otherwise it won't even run...), does anyone else had this problem? I'm using version 1.5.1 btw.

Thanks,
Doris

we also use version 1.5.1 and we adjusted the script as attached --just
make sure you edit the STOP.PORT value to suit your environment which
for the default installation would be 8005.

it's probably also worth while checking the latest version of GeoServer
1.5.x. the version of this script there may have already been fixed
but i haven't tried it.

shutdown.sh (2.18 KB)

Yup, the script has been fixed and should be a-ok for the 1.5.2 release. If someone could verify via a recent 1.5.x nightly build that would be great.
