[Geoserver-users] unpredictable ArcSDE behaviour

HI Andrea,

There is not much information that I can get from the geoserver.log file. The one message that I get is this:

2008-04-10 17:43:30,869 INFO [geoserver.filters] - 151.130.157.10 “POST /geoserver163/config/data/typeNewSubmit.do” “Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)” “http://degs09:8080/geoserver163/config/data/typeNew.do

Hi Andrea,

Thank you for your reply.

I have just tried the geoserver1.6.3. and it was working (Please note

that the feature is created based on the ArcSDE table). Although I must

say it took a long time to extract 1000 features (118329ms).

Ouch!

By using the new geoserver1.6.3 and the new arcSDE extension plugin, I

found another issue with the ArcSDE layers. When I want to create a new

ArcSde layer based on a view it did not allow me to create one and gave

me the following error message:

GeoServer - Exception

*The following exception was thrown: *

*java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: ArcSDE registered views can’t be

writable*

Do you have the full stack trace? (from the GeoServer logs).

This may help Gabriel work this out. But don’t expect a swift

solution… he’s out for a conference.

Cheers

Andrea
