[Geoserver-users] upgrade/migration in user guide?

Hi all,

Do you think it would be helpful to have a separate note on upgrading / migrating to new versions of Geoserver under Section 1 of the documentation? I realize there is info in section “2.5 - Geoserver Data Directory” but I personally feel a quick overview of the upgrade process it would be best placed on it’s own.

Thanks,
Damian

Hi Damian,

I agree with you. I think section 1.1 Upgrading GeoServer makes a lot of sense. I think we should:

1. create the new page
2. move the instructions on upgrading the data directory to it
3. link to the new page from section 2.5.

Sounds good? Any chance would you be interested in updating the wiki?

My apologies, but I have yet to upgrade an installation, and won’t get to do so for another few days at least. It’d be great if someone else could update the wiki to make ensure everything is copasetic. I’m sure it will immediately help lots of folks looking for that info with this recent major release.

Thanks!
