[Geoserver-users] W3DS geoserver3D does not run under windows 7 64 bit

Hello 3d people,

the W3DS community version of geoserver (geoserver3D.war) does not run under Windows 7 64 bit. I have installed Apache Tomcat / 8.0.12. Geoserver3D is listed in the Web Application Manager of Tomcat. But when I try to start geoserver3D I get the following message: "FAIL - Application at context path / geoserver3D could not be started"
Under Win XP geoserver3D works fine on Apache Tomcat / 8.0.12.

Does anyone have an idea?

Hi,

What is geoserver3D.war ? If it is some pre-build of Geoserver with the
community W3DS module enable it is probably outdated.

A colleague build the current (master) version of Geoserver with W3DS
community module enable. We try it using:

- Windows 7 64 Bit
- Apache Tomcat 8.0.12
- JDK\JRE 7_60 64 Bit

And all worked fine.

I upload the Geoserver.war we build to my dropbox if you want to give a

W3DS is a community module so is not included by default in
geoserver.war. You need to build the module by your self.

You have two options:

* you build the geoserver.war using: mvn install -Pw3ds -DskipTests=true

* you only build the W3DS community module and deploy it with the
pre-build geoserver.war.

Geoserver source code is available on Github:
https://github.com/geoserver/geoserver

I know this is not very user friendly, but W3DS still a community
module ...

W3DS is a community module so is not included by default in
geoserver.war. You need to build the module by your self.

You have two options:

* you build the geoserver.war using: mvn install -Pw3ds -DskipTests=true
