Hello,
I’m new to GeoServer and GIS, I have GeoServer 1.5.0 running. I have a number of world files (coverages) that I would like to speed the display of in OpenLayers.
Can world files be cached in some way for example with TileCache ? Or is the only way to speed the display up by building pyramids for the various world files ?
Thanks for any suggestions or help in this regard
TileCache works great, and probably is the best way to increase speed in OpenLayers. We've got a tutorial on it: http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOSDOC/TileCache+Tutorial
Image pyramids will also work, but we don't have a good tool to set them up currently.
