[Geoserver-users] WFS: How to add a geometry to an existing row

HI all,

I want to draw a geometry (with openlayers) and pout that result in an already existing databaserecord.

So I already have the fid, description, and other attributes but only the geometry column is empty.

To me this sounds like an WFS:Update, but since there is no geometry yet, the openlayers WFS layer doesn’t get the data from the db.

Can I specify that my application retrieves a specific record from the database to add a geometry to it?

Cheers

This seems to be a question for OpenLayer-users
