[Geoserver-users] WFS Mixed Geometry

Hi,

When you wrote ”only the points display in WFS” did you mean that the GML data that comes from Geoserver has only points or do you have some client software in the middle which shows only points on the map?

Hello

We have Geoserver 2.4.1 connected to a PostGIS database. I have a table with mixed geometry (points and areas) which displays fine in WMS, but only the points display in WFS.

Can anyone enlighten me as to why WFS wouldn’t display the areas please? Do I need to have separate tables for different geometry?

Thanks

Sandra

Hi Julia

The points only display when I connect in either MapInfo or QGIS with WFS, but when connecting with WMS in either MapInfo or QGIS both points and polygons show.

You may wish to check your describe feature type response, is it possible that MapInfo and QGIS are being told there are only points?

When you use WMS GeoServer is doing the rendering itself so it is a different rendering engine.
