[Geoserver-users] wfs-t and 3-dimension points (Oracle)

Hi,
I am working with 3-dimension feature stored in an Oracle database.
When i retrieve the features in a standard wfs query (gml 3.1), the
response gives me the 3 dimensions of the point.

srsName="http://www.opengis.net/gml/srs/epsg.xml#25831&quot;&gt;&lt;gml:pos&gt;459217\.116781156
4670969.51204205 0</gml:pos>
</gml:Point>

However, when I try to do a insert or update with WFS-T request in the demo
console (sent with same format I had recieved), I get an Oracle exception
(Layer Dimensionality does not match geometry dimensions)

Cheking the geoserver log I've seen that Geoserver puts a 2 dimension
geometry in the Oralce Insert Query.

Am I doing anything wrong?

Maybe not... GeoServer did not use to support 3d ordinates at all, the
support was added
bit by bit over the last years on different store and on the reading side,
but I don't remember specific WFS-T work, and I don't see any integration
test
covering this use case, so I believe you're looking at a missing feature
there

OK,

I’ll try with some postgis datastores and post any significant advance.
I can also configure some processes on the database side.

Maybe not… GeoServer did not use to support 3d ordinates at all, the support was added
bit by bit over the last years on different store and on the reading side,
but I don’t remember specific WFS-T work, and I don’t see any integration test
covering this use case, so I believe you’re looking at a missing feature there

Thanks. By the way, I've just had a peek at the current postgis code and it
should be able
to deal with a third dimension while writing...
You might want to put your breakpoint here:

Ah, you did not say anything about the geoserver version
you're using, what I said above is valid for the 2.7.x series,
haven't checked what's going on for older versions
