In my eternal effort to make our documentation/wiki site (geoserver.org) as helpful as possible, I have been wondering if allowing comments on each page is a good idea. My reasoning is that our wiki should be a community resource shared and used by all, and so someone with the desire to say something on the wiki page should really just edit the page on which the comment would occur*. Also, comments on the wiki also seem to invite questions that should be posted to this list. Finally, comments on pages clutter up the wiki, which can make information more difficult to find.
I will soon be done with a wiki page that goes into detail on how users can edit the wiki pages themselves. This will eventually be posted in a prominent place, so as to do a better job of directing visitors.
Thoughts? (If no one has any thoughts or objections, I will disable comments, so please chime in if you feel strongly.)
Thanks,
Mike

I agree on taking down comments, people should use the ml. If the
go thru Nabble they don't even need to subscribe...
Cheers

Sorry this is not exact: Nabble helps in the subscription and if
I remember proerly allows you to easily turn off mail delivery
in the process. Then you can post thru Nabble and be notified
or responses to your msg.
