[Geoserver-users] windows user feedback please, how to do a network share?

We have a strange regression noted in the recent release notes, and none of the developers are running windows so we cannot figure out the correct course of action.

Can I ask anyone using windows to do the following:

a) Grab the latest Java 8 (say from here https://adoptopenjdk.net/ )
b) Place a shapefile on a network share

c) setup a DataStore referencing the shapefile on the network share
d) Reply to this email to tell us if it still works, and what the final URL to the shapefile ends up being :slight_smile:

We would really appreciate it.

Thanks, they changed something in Java so we are a bit confused about what works.

That is news to me that a mapped drive, what file URL did that end up being? I tend to use FireFox to produce useful “file” URLs and then cut and paste them into GeoServer.

I will try and use your UNC Path to fix our test case.
