Although there’s a seeming disconnect between the SDI and e-gov research communities, in practice, the two areas appear to be seeing eye to eye… if the 3rd European eGovernment Awards 2007 are any sign.

If you want to vote for any of these finalists to be one of the final winners, voting is open until 15 September. To be eligible to vote, you must be a registered user of, and with a full profile on, the Good Practice portal ( http://www.epractice.eu/cases/awards2007) before 7 September 2007.
In total, 311 cases were received from from 32 of the 34 eligible European countries. 53 cases were nominated as finalists. The list of all 53 cases can be found at the Good Practice portal, http://www.epractice.eu/document/3675
The cases received and finalists selected were in the following theme:
Better public services for growth and jobs - 7 Finalists selected from 28 cases submitted
Participation and transparency - 13 Finalists selected from 49 cases submitted
Social impact and cohesion - 7 Finalists selected from 40 cases submitted
Effective and efficient administration - 26 Finalists selected from 194 cases submitted
The five final winners will be announced during the Awards ceremony on 20 September at the Ministerial eGovernment Conference 2007 in Lisbon, Portugal.
