GRASS and MacX

Can anyone tell me how to display a graphics monitor on a Mac running
MacX?
GRASS 4.1 is running on a Sun server, I'm logged into the Sun from the
Mac. Access control is turned off at the Mac end and the DISPLAY
variable is
set to Mac_hostname:0.0 on the Sun end. When I try to open a monitor,
i.e. d.mon start=x0, GRASS returns a series of X error codes and
finally says
that the monitor is not started- stating the obvious. I've seen
numerous
postings to this list that imply that it _should_ work, so I assume
that I'm not
doing something correctly. Can anyone help?

Thanks....

I'm using MacX for grass since more than a year ago. You have to set your
DISPLAY to

setenv DISPLAY IPnumber:0.2

because 0.0 for MacX is a b/w monitor. Good luck and contact me again if
you have more problems.
