Dear all,
I was expecting the add-on r.area.createweight to be included with the 7.8.6 release of GRASS, but it does not appear either in the ‘new addons’ list on the summary of changes page, nor is it possible to add with g.extension.
Was wondering what the issue might be ?

Hi Charlotte,
It seems, the issue is that the Makefile is named ‘Makefile.txt’.
So it is not executed and the addon is not built.
If you rename it, the addon should become available with the next (nightly) build…

Hi again,
There were actually also some issues with the manual HTML. Tried to fix them in the same PR, and wit the changes in place the addon should install. I did not go through how the manual looks now. So, Charlotte, please test and review before I merge!

Hi Charlotte,
I have now added all new addons to the News page: https://trac.osgeo.org/grass/wiki/Release/7.8.6-News#NewAddonssinceGRASS7.8.5. I overlooked that before, sorry about that.
Please note that the page it’s just a wiki, so everyone can contribute there, and everyone is encouraged to do so when they add new modules, new features to existing modules or fix bugs.
